A prayer for fathers
This is not a pity party nor a rant. Goodness know I wasted enough time already wishing for a father who was not always angry and who knew how to encourage and love, whose hands were tender and not harsh. It is way past the time to move on. He has. Before Daddy passed away I spent many years agonizing over my selection of the correct father's day card as none seemed to apply. Perhaps my lack of a good father/daughter relationship contributed to the poor judgement I used when selecting male partners, (or letting them select me). I often moaned my ability to be a "jerk magnet", but my children were/are my joy.
One of my worst regrets is my inability to provide them with caring and nurturing fathers so I am truly blessed and in awe when I see what wonderful men and caring fathers my sons have become. It brings tears of joy to my eyes as I watch them shower their children with loving tenderness and playfulness tempered with discipline. It is my prayer that more men would find the joy of their children's adoration in their eyes as they look to them for love and guidance.
Happy father's day. Thank you for your visit. Take care, stay healthy and God bless!
