Wild purple flowers

dandelions

Last year Abriele was too young to enjoy playing. She just turned a year old a few weeks ago. Grandma and Grandpa have the pleasure of watching her on Wednesday nights while her mother is attending a class. She is like a beautiful wild flower herself, growing so quickly!!  In the yard or in our home she is so funny. She wanders off, but never out of sight then comes back to Booker and I to look at us for a moment then take off again.

Mariolina and (my baby boy) Chris came over after church Sunday and we got to enjoy some backyard time. I showed Mari how Abriele had learned how to blow the white fuzzy heads off the dandelions that had gone to seed. She would blow and blow until they were stripped of every seed then wait for my reaction. She was so proud of herself!!

I told Mari how to spot the broad leaves of the dandelions which are good and wholesome to eat and we talked about her co-worker who grows dandelions to make wine. Hmmm.... My (adult) grandson was visiting too and it piqued his interest. Since dandelions are more nutritionally beneficial than spinach I was curious to know if the nutrition would carry over or be lost?

1.) Have you ever had dandelion wine?

2.) Do you know how to make it?

Hi Judy, She is so cute. What a pretty eyes!
1&2) I never had dandelion wine and do not know how to make it. That could be a real treat to try one day.
I didn't even know that there is such a thing - not that I know everything right?
