Thankful Thursday - Storm Shelters

Storm shelter

Oklahoma was just hit hard with 200 mph winds and tornadoes wreaking devastation upon their state. Many people who survived the storm spoke of how wise they were to have built a storm shelter and credited that decision with their still being alive today.

My home has a basement. I live in Michigan which is also known for it's tornadoes. I have survived three and seen the damage and havoc they leave behind. During each of these tornadoes my family and I remained in the basement and were protected. I would not move into a home without a basement. I also have another "storm shelter" and that is my Lord and Savior. There is nothing He can not see us through.

1. What kind of natural disasters is your area known for?

2. What kind of precaution do you take?

This post linked to two questions Thursday. Please prayer for our neighbors in Oklahoma and any others you know that are going through their own personal storms. Take care, stay healthy and God bless!

I see we are both talking about the same thing, only in different perspective.

My area seems to be sheltered from natural disaster very well. I had no basement, and haven't figure out where to go when disaster strikes. We probably run to our neighbor who has a basement.

The only thing I know so far was having no electricity when we had storms. (Knock on wood!!!)

We have been "dodging" tornadoes here in Kansas too. Always a scary season. So terribly sorry for the people of Moore, OK. What a tragedy--but they will rebuild and go on. Hope all is well with you. Mickie :)
