The bull, you say?

Taurus the bull

Long ago I found that my birthday fell upon the days designated as Taurus. So did my mother and her mother. We had no other Taurus in our family; hard to believe with 4 children, 2 steps, 30 grands and 7 great grands, that is untill Abriele was born. I am not one to place a lot of stock in horoscopes, mainly because their practice conflicts with my religious teaching. I do not read my daily horoscope and certainly would not plan my life nor even my day around the predictions, but have to admit the description fits me pretty well and I am happy to participate in Kristjaan's haiku challenge; carpe diem. This one is inspired by the sign of Taurus the bull. I hope you enjoy reading them as much as I enjoyed writing them.

You may think he's dull
But heed a warning 'bout the bull
He's thinking things through
~
While others think quickly
And repent tens times over
Taurus has decided well
~
Loyal, true and brave
Working hard to scrimp and save
To give to those they love
~

Thank you for your visit. Take care, stay healthy and God bless!

Wow! Blessings to her. Please give her a hug from me. My mom will be 77 the end of April and we look forward to taking her out to eat.

Beautiful Haiku - the other side of the Bull :)

I especially like the first one, and I agree. I do not go by the horoscope, it's just a bit of fun to me, but I do find that my sign of Cancer fits me well--although if I were another sign, I'm sure I would find the same. Such is the way they are designed.

My mom is a Taurus too, she will become 83 this month and we will celebrate her birthday because we almost lost her.
Nice series of haiku about 'the other' bull.

Ah you know the bull. More than just puff and muscle ;)

I also find that the descriptions fit me well...

Reminds me of a course I did, where we had a handwriting test... and after a while everyone got a sealed envelop. The description was just perfect for everyone... and then one of the participants started to read loud, and it turned out we had been given the same description.

I have experienced something very similar. In many aspects we are very much alike. Sealing the envelope did not seal your classmates lips. lol
