Pitter Patter falls the rain

Cat watching the rainfall

Dear kitty, if you knew
What the rain would do to you
You would run away
~
On my window pane
Pitter patter falls the rain
Such a sweet refrain
~

Dried and dusty brown
Grass relinquishing its ground
Rain brings it back to life
~

Flowers everywhere
Wouldn't have had a prayer
But for the gentle rain
~
Life is on the very brink
Thirsty little flowers drink
Lifting heads again
~

Kritsjaan challenges us to write haiku and inspires us with the mention of cooling rains and cherry blossoms. We have no cherry blossoms yet, but I anxiously await them. Their beauty and fragrance are truly a welcome sign of spring. Kristjaan offers daily haiku challenges, so check him out from time to time. There is sure to be one that will inspire you to wax poetic. :-) See you at carpe diem

I love your haiku.

If it doesn't stop raining here in MO, I WILL lose my mind.

Love your poetry, and that your are not afraid to use rhyme. The pitterpatter spoke most clearly to me.
