Peacock Prince

A pair of peacocks

The male peacock danced
Sashayed with his mate and pranced
Oblivious to our eyes
             ~
He was not humble
His demeanor never tamed
His beauty was blamed

              ~
I wanted to create a haiku series as follows. Is there such a thing?

Metallic blue shades
Glowed elegantly and proudly
In the peacock's feathers

He fanned them proudly
Saying dear Miss peacock look now
I display them for thee

But she turned her head
The color display was wasted
Color blind is she

Thanks for the lend of the photos (links hidden under the captions). Thanks so much Kristjaan Panneman for this challenge called Carpe Diem. The challenge is to create a haiku inspired by the prompt "The Peacock".

Lovely, like a dance of words between the birds

Very nicely done. A wonderful set of haiku extending the theme. Thank you for sharing :)

Awesome ... I like the way how you've used our inspirational haiku by Shiki.

Wonderful haiku expressing the 'mating of peacocks' ~

Oh how you weave the words. I love it!

And what a beautiful dance indeed! Such glory. Makes you want God to explain why :)

Just beautiful.

the first 2? I am speechless - captured the jump of the heart when seeing a full peacock display! And if there is no such thing as a 'haiku series' (and I am sure there is) you created one and nailed it!

I like watching peacocks, but haven't seen one for years now. They are gorgeous..
