Dancing Shadows

Dancing Shadows

Dancing Shadows

A Shadow Quote:

"He hideth my soul in the cleft of the rock that shadows a dry thirsty land; He hideth my life in the depths of His love, and covers me there with His hand, and covers me there with His hand."
~ Fanny J Crosby, a well known songwriter.

I love the ways the shadow can play, moving first one way then another as the wind causes the branches to dance, but as I studied the movement I thought about Fanny Crosby, a well known song writer who created imagery in our minds, but she was blind; visually blind but not spiritually. This post linked to shadow shot Sunday. Thank you for your visit. Stay well and God  bless!

Thankful Thursday - Grown ups

Wednesday, July 25, 2012

Take a stand against bullying!

Some people just never grow up and I have someone very near and dear to me who was working with some of those so called "adults". Just because they have their own place, and their own car, and their own job, doesn't mean they are  adults especially when they treat others irresponsibly because they are not of the same ethnic background that they are!  Last I knew we were all created by the same wonderful God.  These people thought it was all right to tell racist jokes, call my relative several ugly racial slurs throughout the day every day and cook up on him to get him fired. One of the ones who was the ring leader was the boss's son.

Now we are in a quandary.  He has a family to support. He needs employment and the agency that got him this job is looking for another for him and he should be working shortly, but every dime of every pay check was needed.

My questions:

1. Does he fight back? I have encouraged him to because if no one before us had ever stood for justice women would not vote today. Blacks would still not be allowed to eat with us and so many more inequalities... I am married to a black man, which even during my life time was outlawed in certain states.  We have come a long way, but the journey is just beginning! Of course it is up to him.

2.  Where should he start? I have looked up some lawyers who fight against unjust work practices for free forwarding the links to him, and this employer should really be more careful. They work on government contracts. I am sure the government would not sanction this type of behavior!

Join us at Amanda's for two questions Thursday. I am so grateful that I work with grown ups! Thank you for your visit. Take care and God bless!

Look out and Look up! Thankful Thursday!!

Wednesday, July 18, 2012

Just today I heard this said "Look out and look up" and quickly popped within my head... and God will fill your cup...

 Look out and look up
God will fill your cup
I've no treasures in my pocket
I don't even own a locket
My treasures are safely found
Where many more do abound

All tucked within and overflowing
Within my family ever growing
And in the  beauties that I see
Constantly all 'round me
Yes, look out and look up
And God will fill your cup

The inspiration came from a comment received from Colette and God's many, many gifts....

This is my baby boy, my new daughter in-law,  Mariolina, and our new baby. My four children have blessed me with many grands and even some great grands.  I get teary eyed just thinking about them. The only reason I work so much is that I have bills to pay, and also would love to give them the world  because they ARE the world to me. I would love to just sit around them all the time, play with the babies and have heartfelt conversations with the older ones.

How about you? What do you love best?   Join Amanda at Two Questions Thursday!

Thanks for your visit. Take care, stay healthy and God bless!

Golden Ribbons in the Sky

Friday, July 13, 2012

Golden sunset

Golden sunrise

Golden ribbons in the sky

Counting up my cash would take
But a moment or two
Many hours I work,
But not much do I own
But this I know,
I do not live in this world alone
My stomach does not ache,
Hunger I know not
And when I feel remiss
I find a special spot
Not far do I travel,
Not far must I go
Because God grants His beauty
To all who live below.
We have but to look,
And for all who see
There is the beauty of the sky
The beauty of the tree
The gold I do not grasp
And my hands can't seem to hold
But it's found in the sky above
A beauty to behold. . .
While I am busy chasing pennies
Trying to make a dime
God is painting masterpieces
And wonders for all time.
Nature by God

There's a canopy above
Covering all with God's love
You may think it's just a sky
Not even noticing clouds roll by

 Not even noticing the
Ever changing face
Sometimes moving without a trace
Of what once was or soon will be

So many views above the trees
Cottony clouds, massive size
All these perfect in my eyes
Skies with golden hues,
 Along with shades of blues

Golden clouds

Streaks of pink, streaks of gold
Wondrous skies to behold
I think that every time I see
A sky that's made so perfectly
That it's beauty can't be topped
And the show is never stopped
Beauty by God
poem by Judy

This post linked to Skywatch Friday but every day is sky watch day for some of us. lol

Sorry, I am posting so late. There has been so much going on! Chris and Mari are all moved in. Mari's mother and brother are visiting from NY and we are having a bar-b-cue tomorrow in celebration. Abriele (their baby daughter) is getting bigger and more beautiful and her other grandma and uncle are so excited to finally get to spend time with her. She is going through the stage now where she becomes very animated and loves to respond to our smiles so there are a bunch of adults talking silly talk around her. :-)

Thank you for your visit. Take care. God bless and stay healthy!!

Y - Because We Like You!

Wednesday, July 4, 2012

Lion head bunny

Red, white and blue

The Mickey Mouse club used to sing "M-i-c-k-e-y
Y - because we like you!

So "Y" has been multi tasking as least since I was a child! :-)
Y begins and ends words equally well -

Look at all the incredible things that end in Y
There is bunny, butterfly and the fourth of July
There is lily, baby, strawberry and sky
So many yummy things to catch your eye...
And have you noticed some both begin and end with Y?
Such as yesterday, yummy, yeomanly,
youthfully and yearly?
And the letter "Y" causes you to question
When you hear it uttered, asks I. . .

This post linked to ABC Wednesday. Have a great fourth of July. Thanks so much for visiting. Take care, stay healthy and God bless!
