Flower collage containing mock orange, dianthus, lily, catalpa and lamb's ear

Bloggers are some of the smartest and most compassionate people alive. If you visit A Rural Journal you will see an outpouring of love in the many flowers sent to cheer up Leontien who is battling cancer. There are showers of flowers and I would like to offer mine also. God bless you, Leontien, and I wish and pray for your complete recovery.  The internet allows us to be more aware of those around us.

Amanda shares too in her meme, Thursday Two Questions. Many topics are broached and conversations are always friendly and sometimes quite informative and sometimes even very warm. Many things happen to me throughout the week that sometimes throw me completely off my blogging schedule so I might miss a lot of other memes, but I try very hard to participate in Amanda's meme. It is stimulating and enjoyable, and it's Amanda's! This week my questions are about prayer.

1. Do you believe in prayer? I completely believe in prayer, but feel that prayers are not always answered  in the way we think they should be. They require us to have faith in God's ability to know what is best for us.

2. Do you pray in a routine fashion, or are your prayers more like spontaneous conversation? I talk to God all day long.  :-) - Nothing routine about me. lol (Remember my childhood nickname was "Chatterbox" ) Thank you for your visit. Take care, stay healthy and God bless.

Hi Judy, this is a nice post and thought provoking questions (I will try to stay light).

I believe in prayer but also believe that sometimes God doesn't answer like we ask Him to. Also that silence is "no" at least for a while. Lastly, prayer helps to establish a closer relationship with Him.

At our house we pray at meal time. Then sometimes at bed time. Those are quasi-regular.
Sometimes while I'm driving or in limbo I pray.

Often times when I think about praying the 'Fidler on the Roof' comes to mind and how he prayed a lot.

I believe in prayer as one of our communications with God. I don't believe our prayers change God's ideas or plans. But instead, I believe our prayers change us in the process to help us understand more--his plan.

I hope that makes sense.

I pray all day long and sometimes wake in the night praying. On those occasions I feel the closest to our heavenly Father.

Thanks Judy in posting such a sweet, and warm post. From my years of blogging- I can actually say that now. I got tired of the two-word comments that doesn't give me any satisfaction in knowing the blogger or rewards in reading the comments. I cherish every Thursday, as you've said, it stimulates my mind, it tells me what my friends are doing and how they are all over the country. I get to ask them about their knowledge and it is like having a conversation with them virtually. Be right to run now.

I do believe in prayer, and I agree God doesn't always answer prayers the way we sort of invision or hope. That's because He has a plan. Our human side won't allow us sometimes to see precisely what He has figured out for us, but if you're like me then you evidentally learn things work out best the way God handles matters.

I do have routine prayer times, but whenever I feel the urge to talk to Him then I do. I know He wants to hear from us more often than He does. I need to take more time to have quiet time with Him.

1) I believe in prayer, but I also know that it's not up to me or what I want. It's up to God to grant it.

2) I don't have a set routine in praying. Like you, I talk to God all day long. I don't like saying prayers from memorizing like I was taught.

That is beautiful, the outpouring of love for Leontien.

1. Yes I do believe in prayer. Our pastor did an interesting sermon on it a few weeks ago.
It is true the if you just becausee you think you should, or it's just automatic , then what can be done with it. God wants us to pray with belief, knowing and trusting him to do it.

2. I pray routinely and I also talk to God constantly as I go about my daily.

Happy Thursday
And God bless you!

Oh Judy this is a beautiful post for Leontien. She is an amazing woman and does not deserve to be going through this but she is surrounded by love and prayers. Yes I believe prayers work and hugs do not hurt either.
You are right about blogger people they are very caring compassionate people. Take care and thanks for the lovely post and flowers for Leontien. B
