That first place

Monday, September 26, 2011

It took us awhile, but we were able to locate a suitable place for my son and his fiance to rent. We compared apartments, homes and condos at Rent Calgary apartments where the monthly cost starts at around $750. a month and some places even allow pets and have discounts for seniors.

Yes, Chris has finally found his own place. It has only been a few months ago, but it seems like forever as he  and his fiance, Mari are turning their first home into their own place  adding their own touches and their own furnishings. It has changed from a bare but spacious apartment into their home. It is so exciting and I cannot resist buying new pieces here and there to add to their love nest. Trying to find the right things to reflect the personality of the home and the occupants is fun and challenging. I don't know who is enjoying this more, the kids or me.

Mari and I decorated throws pillows the other day, and the top of their dresser. The weekend before last she and Chris changed the furniture around. Hey, they actually have some furniture now to move around and (and this is big) it is all paid for! I really liked the way Mari had him move the furniture around with the dresser at the other end as the mirror really made the room look larger. They have so many ideas and it so fun to watch them. It makes me remember the excitement of when I got my first place...

You've got me excited too, Judy. As you know, we moved last year into an old place that I've spent a lot of time decorating.

I'm not going to leave my link here, but you could always let your son and Mari pop over to my diy projects blog for some fantastic ideas (if they need them). Sounds like they're doing great on their own, with your help. :-)

Congrats to Chris and Mari on finding a new place. Decorating is fun especially when you're starting from scratch.
