Shhh! Don't tell Mari

Tuesday, July 26, 2011

I posted earlier about my son’s fiancé's visit from New York and how she and I visited various employers filling out applications, providing interviews, dropping off resumes and so forth. For the last few months she has been busy online looking up prospective employment, applying online, making calls, and mailing letters and resumes. This was hopefully going to be her last step in cementing a job so she could move here mid-July.

We took an afternoon off after she successfully landed a job (after only two all day excursions)! The above picture is Mari sneaking up on some cranes at Jeannie's farm. We enjoyed a relaxing day in the country watching cranes, chipmunks, and an assortment of wild birds. Mari nicknamed Jeannie's farm "the discovery channel".

But vacation is over. She is all settled in and has started her new job. She was advised to wear scrubs in her new capacity and unfortunately I gave all mine away when the doctor's office I worked at closed so we have been shopping at a local scrubs store. I love this particular shade of turquoise. It is my favorite color, but hers is purple.

I am so proud of her. She has been so unselfish, determined, dedicated,  and hardworking in her pursuit of a job to successfully  start her new life with us in Michigan that I want to get her a gift certificate at my favorite scrub store: http://www.blueskyscrubs.com/categories/Scrubs/  Please don't tell her. I want her to be surprised.

This day in age a woman's life is so busy. She deserves a break from all her household chores and these scrubs are just what the "doctor ordered" for a more stress free life. They wash and wear without ever needing an iron and stay so crisp and fresh looking. Jumping into a pair of scrubs to rush off to work is so much better than spending hours searching for the right thing to wear. They are always right.

You are an angel here on earth dear sister in Christ. What a family Mari gets to be a part of in Michigan. I am happy for her. What size is Mari? I have scrub jackets with pockets size large.

Roberta, you are too sweet. I am a long way from an angel, but she is such a dear girl. I didn't lose my son, I gained a daughter. I am so blessed!!

She likes her scrubs roomy to look more professional.

Congrats to Mari on her new job. I love the photo of her sneaking up on the cranes!

Scrubs do look comfortable and they would certainly be a time saver in the mornings when deciding what to wear.
