Without Blame

Sunday, April 17, 2011

My heart lies heavy in my chest
Making it impossible to rest
His words are cutting like a knife
It's not easy to be his wife

It makes me wonder why I was born?
To be the object of his scorn?
I try to hold my head up high
But cannot look him in the eye
Afraid of what I just might see
In his eyes as they pierce me

A "whipping boy" I've became
A place to harbor all his blame
For he claims to be without sin
Standing tall among all men

Oh Lord, I pray, with tears streaming
A "happy marriage" - I was dreaming!
Because that wasn't meant to be
Not on earth and not for me

Cruel and ugly are the names
He hurls at me in his blame games
Your answer comes, Lord I hear you
You were blameless - they could have cleared you

You took his sins; you took mine too.
Were ridiculed and pierced through
Were lied upon and nailed to a cross
And never counted it as loss

You gave to us a sin free life
You took the church to be your wife
So wipe my tears and dress I must
To go to church and earn your trust.

Forgiveness from God,
poem by Judy

Thanks so much for visiting me today. Take care and God bless.

Pilate hands over Jesus to be crucified. His wife had an uneasy night plagued with nightmares about Jesus and His innocence and pleas with Pilate to release him. The chief priests and Jewish officials stir up the crowd so when the governor asked, as was customary during the passover "Which of these two shall I release?" they asked for Barabas and shouted for the crucifixion of Jesus. Pilate asked the crowd what Jesus had done wrong. They answered back "Crucify! Crucify!"

Pilate then asked for a bowl of water to wash his hands of the deed saying "I am innocent of the blood of this good man. The responsibility is yours!" The mob yelled back "His blood be on us and our children!" Matt. 27:15-25 Life Application Bible

After this Jesus endured beating, mocking, being spat upon.. and yet he thought of us. Verse Luke 23:34 "Father forgive these people," Jesus said, "For they don't know what they are doing."

Your poem was so filled with sadness that I hope it was poetic license and not your life. {{{Hugs}}}

Oh this poem pains my heart so, Judy! It's a great poem filled with anguishes, and torments..but you forgive just as Our Father that forgives us.

Your reward is in heaven, not on this earth!

Your poems always make me happy, darling. This one doesn't. It's a great poem, but it makes me sad.

I do hope it's fiction - just something you thought up to write.

My thoughts are with you. Who wouldn't love you?

I'm sure many who are walking this road will feel a little less alone reading this. A beautiful ministry.

Blessings,

It is definitely a very painful yet provocative poem. I believe there are many people out that that knows exactly how if feels too. I love how you tie the events together so graciously.
