Should pot be legal?

Wednesday, December 29, 2010

Recently I came across an old friend who told me that they had applied for and received a medical certificate making it legal to smoke pot. I was somewhat surprised but also intrigued when invited to take a look at their hydropinic garden. So intrigued that I asked them if I could take pictures. Permission was granted and if you are a little curious about what I found out while researching you can read here

The article will explain the coloring. My questions this week are:

1) Have you ever tried pot? You don't have to answer this.

2) How would you feel about someone close to you smoking it?

My answers:

I haven't. I have a great fear of addiction. When prescribed pain medication I do not take the whole bottle but only enough to get through the worst of it then discard the rest. I have only taken pain medications about three times in my life; torn rotator cuff, ruptured ovarian cyst, and abcessed tooth with an exposed nerve. I had each of my four children natural.

I am leery of the use of this plant. I would prefer my family/friends avoided it, but once it becomes legal curtailing use will become even more difficult.

Thanks for participating in my TTQ and God bless! I do hope everyone has a prosperous, healthy, happy and blessed New Year!!

It's Cold but Pretty!

Wednesday, December 22, 2010

Santa gave Marolina an early Christmas present when she visited us last week end and she so generously shared it with us. We took her to the City Night Lites and she took many pictures with her new Samsung digital camera. She was having a bit of a problem emailing them to me so the quality is not as good as the original photo, but still much better than the ones I took. My little point and shoot cannot correct all my errors. lol She took the first two and I took the last one. Mine was in daylight, so less challenging. I so admire those with a steady hand and photography skills.

I hope you are enjoying the beauty of the season. Take care, God bless and Merry Christmas!

Digging through my photo archives I came across the very first pictures I took with my camera last November the day Jeannie and I picked out and purchased the camera. I just couldn't wait. I bought batteries in the store and started shooting.
Have you some red shots you would like to share?

Have you ever seen a real reindeer?

Saturday, December 18, 2010

Isn't young love special? Isn't love special? Baby boy introduced me to his new girl friend today. She flew in for the week end, so I was glad for the opportunity to meet Baby Boy's new love interest.

We went out to eat then afterwards picked up my mom, his grandma and went to vist baby girl and her family, then drove through the Christmas light display we have in town. The lights were quite spectacular and then we parked and went inside where they are holding a Christmas tree auction and housing a couple live reindeer. Look at those reindeer hooves!

His girlfriend and I had a wonderful chat and talked like old friends. I really like Mariolina. She and I both noted how the trees on display were being auctioned off for worthy causes. There were several and they were donated from many worthwhile agencies/causes in Michigan. The bid is silent (see the mail box at the base of the tree) and the winning bid gets the tree, decorations and all the gifts beneath it. The cause gets the purchase price. What a win/win event!

Doggie Treats

Saturday, December 11, 2010

I passed up making Christmas cookies to make doggie treats with a friend today. We made half a batch for her pug, Zinna and the other half for my mother's cock-a-poo, Rayanna. The recipe contains all natural ingredients and is doggie approved. Both dogs enjoyed the treats immensely and I enjoyed the time with my friend and then mother and both their fur buddies. I told the dogs they were cousins as I am  auntie to Zinna, and big sister to my mother's baby. ;-)

I hope your week end is nothing short of spectacular!

Thankful Thursday - Time to Smell the Roses

Wednesday, December 8, 2010

Just a moment
He asks
Lend me your ear
There is something
I'd like you to hear

A pretty song he raises on high
The sound is amazing from this little guy...

Just a moment He asks
There's something to see
Open your eyes
Set your mind free
Your hustle and bustle
Are wearing you out
There's beauty in life
Don't leave it out!
Y
You'll want to hear and to see
What God has for you
Which means taking a moment
 or two...

A Sky full of Ribbons

Tuesday, December 7, 2010

Tie a pretty ribbon
Tie it just right
Make it look festive
Such a pretty sight

God leaves pretty ribbons
He hangs them just so
Streaks them through the sunsets
To create a wondrous show

I tie my pretty ribbons
God leaves His undone
Streaking through the sky
All wrapped up in the sun
